I am not certain whether I have an early to 56 engine/heads. The engine was replace in 1967 prior to my knowledge of the car. Are there casting numbers or something that will help with this issue?

Thanks,

Kent

well the easy way is to pull out the bolts and compare if you have 3 types or two , or you can look at the cylinder head bolt bosses to see if the three under the rockers are milled to the same height as the two outer ones , or if the head is off the engine measure down from the top of the boss to the bottom of the head , there is 1/4 inch difference on the later head and they are the same on the early heads
